Bob Knight and Gail Knight’s continuous involvement with Florida State University has been recognized in several ways; An auditorium named after them; Executive positions at FSU; and more.

They’ve reached donation plateaus for FSU and are President’s Club Scholars members (for donors of $1 million dollars or more.) Bob and Gail are Sapphire level in the Vires, Artes, Mores Society and are also members of Forever FSU for making annual gifts to academics.

They have been invited to lecture and present their knowledge within the schools at FSU; lessons on photography; the business of photography and what companies are looking for; and more. Leaving a legacy of knowledge within the aspiring young professionals they encounter while lecturing.

Gail Knight is currently on the FSU College of Business‘ executive board–Gail graduated in accounting from FSU’s College of Business back in 1982′ (read more in their book.) A major gift was given to the FSU College of Business by Bob and Gail Knight back in 2019 (read more.)

The 300-seat Bob & Gail Knight auditorium allows the FSU College of Business to host distinguished guest lecturers and visiting professors whose expertise and insight benefit our students, faculty, alumni and community members. The auditorium enhances the functionality of the new building and provides countless professional opportunities for FSU’s students.


Bob Knight is an alumni of the FSU College of Communications and Information (formerly College of Communications.) He recently received an FSU CCI Distinguished Alumni award in 2024 for his incredible accomplishments and contributions to his community. In 2002, Bob and Gail made a planned gift to CCI and are now members of the James D. Westcott Society.

Bob and Gail Knight have become members of the Bowden Society—they have given generous amounts to Florida State’s athletic programs through the Endowed Football Scholarships.

Bob and Gail Knight have given two major gifts to the FSU Softball program. They’re 2024 Softball Dugout Club Members of the year and have section 3 within Joanne Graf Field named after them.

They’ve hosted the softball team for dinner, contributed to new batting cages, and have contributed to other investments for FSU Softball.
